Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (80-82, 3rd Place AL West in 2010): It was a challenging year for the Halos last season, as they really aren't utilised to finishing in third place in the division, nor are they used not to even finishing.500, especially after years of domination in the AL West. However, they really needed to reconstruct last year, more so after dropping Kendry Morales early in the season. The bits were supposed to come together this season with Carl Crawford in the offseason, but rather, he headed to the Boston Red Sox. Manager Mike Scioscia has lots of work to do.
New York Yankees (28-23) - The New York Yankees are the top scoring team in the American League; with 264 runs. The Yankees avoided the sweep at the hands of the Seattle Mariners with a win on Sunday. The Yankees are in 2nd place in the American League East; behind the Boston Red Sox. Curtis Granderson has become the key for New York, with a.282 batting average, 16 homeruns and 37 runs batted in. The Yankees pitching has been anchored by both wins from C.C. Sabathia and an ERA under 3.

The offense for Texas has seen both Nelson Cruz and Josh Hamilton miss time with injuries. The Rangers are ninth in baseball with 234 runs scored, and also ninth with a.257 batting average. Texas has seen Adrian Beltre supply the power source for the offense, with 11 homeruns and 41 runs batted in.
Edwin Jackson (SP) - He will not receive a superstar contract but Edwin Jackson will be highly sought after in a thin pitching industry. Jackson doesn't have good career numbers but has shown signs of being a star. The Yankees and many other teams that need pitching will surely make him an offer.
Catcher: New York's Paul Lo Duca (.327, 2 HR, 14 RBI) is in position for his fifth All-Star appearance and currently ranks fourth in the league in batting average. He's done a great job with the pitching staff and will probably hold on to the top mlb player spot. Los Angeles backstop Russell Martin (.303, 4 HR, 36 RBI) is enjoying a wonderful season in his second full year and will be a part of this All-Star discussion for years to come.

Utley- Solid Value: Owners paid for the best 2nd baseman out there and with the exception of month-long freak injury, Utley delivered all season. Before the broken hand episode occurred in late July, Utley was on pace to set a new MLB-doubles record (70) and shatter his season-high RBI record (105). Get this-- in his return from the DL, Utley picked up right where he left off and proceeded 3-for-5 with a homer and a double. His final line of .332/.410/.566 were career highs.
